As a reaction to the long, drawn-out process of Strange Brotherhood, the Eight album was made quickly and simply in the band’s own studio, with Justin claiming to be "reborn as a song-writer." To keep up the momentum, it was decided to self-produce with mostly Justin, Michael and Dean at the controls.
