Winter (2016)
We first met Lee Smith and Jamie Lockhart while we were recording Between Wine and Blood at their Greenmount Studio in Leeds. We were initially attracted by their tape machine (we had recently rediscovered the joys of recording onto tape rather than directly to computer), but then we quickly became aware that both Lee and Jamie had a lot of musical knowledge, drive and ideas that were totally compatible with where we wanted to go. So, we went back to record Winter with them. Hard-hitting and very much in keeping with the prevailing atmosphere across the World on the eve of Brexit and Trump, it had echoes of our early work while still exploring new ideas.
