Unbroken (2024)

As the Covid years receded, we had been writing and recording demos for our next, 16th album. Partly as a reaction to the grand, big-sound experiments of ‘From Here’ and ‘Sinfonia’, we decided to make a ‘roots’ album, working in our own studio and keeping the songs and instrumentation simple, direct and to the point. As the recording progressed, we asked yet another recording legend, Tchad Blake, if he would be interested in mixing. He said yes, and also that he would be happy to mix what had, up to that point, been considered demos, because he liked their immediacy and simplicity. The result was Unbroken, a very direct album, built around powerful bass and drums and the guitar textures that is our signature sound.
